Major companies include US-based American Dental Partners, Smile Brands and its affiliated service marks, Bright Now! Dental, Castle Dental, and Monarch Dental, as well as Western Dental. International companies include Abano Healthcare (New Zealand), Bupa Dental Care (UK), and OdontoPrev (Brazil).

    The American Dental Association (ADA) reported around 200,000 dentists working in the industry in 2019.14 Spending on dental services varies from country to country. In the US, dental spending reached over $130 billion or almost 4% of the country’s total health spending in 2018, according to ADA Health Policy Institute.

    About 135,000 dentists' offices operate in the US, generating annual revenue of about $120 billion.

    COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

    Demand for dental services is driven largely by population growth, especially among children ages 5 to 19, who may require prophylactic and orthodontic work, and adults over 55, who may need more specialized dental work.
